ABC’s Future

Christ Focused and Bible Centered

Unchanging Purpose

In 1969, six initial families believed that God wanted to plant a Bible church in the Cottage Lake area over the last 50 years, thousands of people have enjoyed exegetical preaching, countless Bible lessons, innumerable life groups and fellowship gatherings. New friendships were made as God’s people did life together. Children have grown up on the memorization of the Word in Sunday School and during the week in the Awana program. Students have been strengthened on solid teaching. It has been our purpose to be Christ focused and Bible centered in everything we do, and we have seen radical transformation of lives into the image of Christ. We look forward to the future as we continue to obey and fulfill the great commission, to go and make disciples.

Our Past Points to Our Future

ABC has always been a congregation full of forward, future thinkers who have prayerfully followed God’s lead in planning for the next generation We have celebrated four major capital improvements to keep up with our growing congregation. The first church building was built by the hands of those early attenders. The youth building was installed to in 2001, when our youth and AWANA programs began to see explosive growth. When our congregation outgrew the small chapel, in 2004 we nearly tripled the size of our sanctuary while doubling the Children’s education classrooms. In 2009, the coffee shop connected our new and old buildings allowing more opportunities for fellowship. This expansion also set the stage for additional growth by adding the fire sprinkler system. We enjoy the enduring fruit of this vision, labor and sacrifice.

Our Next Steps

We believe that God’s people are hungry for His Word and we must be prepared to preach, teach and love His people. Our elders have thoughtfully designed a new building that address not only Sunday morning for adults but all week long for families. We’ve prayerfully and thoughtfully considered how we can plan for growth without sacrificing the culture of being Christ Focused and Bible Centered. We don’t need to accomplish all this overnight, but we now have a vision for where we are going.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Do We Need a New Building?

ABC’s purpose is “to go make disciples”. This requires that we have both an inward and outward focus. We must ardently seek to save the lost for that is the heart of God. Evangelism and reaching out to the unchurched is a mandate, not an option. We must continue to not only seek our own spiritual growth, but also make room for those whom God is actively calling. We are currently operating at full capacity in our current programs. Thankfully and gratefully we are enjoying the enduring fruit of labor and sacrifice of the preceding generation of congregants at ABC. It is now our time to invest in the next generation at ABC.

How Much Do We Need to Raise?

Our builder has estimated a total construction cost of 2.4 million dollars.

How Do I Give?

You can give by mail, online, or on a Sunday during weekly services, designate your gift as “Building Project”. Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give towards the new facility. You might have some stocks, property, or even some stored resources that God has blessed you with and just might be calling you to give. Pray about maximizing your gift by giving stocks to avoid capital gains. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you.

Give Online

What if Something Comes Up that We Haven't Budgeted for?

The elders at ABC have carefully and prayerfully stewarded your giving to the LORD over the last five decades. They are committed to continue careful stewardship in the future. Our commitment is to not incur any new debt.

What if We Don't Raise All the Funds?

We are planning on building in phases in order to incur no new debt. We will continue to strive to be good stewards of the funds given to us by the Lord.

Why Do I Need to Turn In a Pledge Card?

The card is a place for you to meet with God and consider how He wants you to use these funds for the Kingdom. It’s more than just a number, it’s a symbol of your commitment to what God is doing in your life. To align with scripture, Matthew 6:2-4, they will remain anonymous. It’s imperative that you turn your pledge card in to help our elders budget more effectively.

Should I Redirect My Regular Giving?

No, giving to our capital campaign is separate from your regular giving. This is an opportunity to trust God and take the next step in your generosity and obedience.

How Will This Effect ABC's Current Operations?

We may experience some inconveniences that affect our worship services, but we will do everything we can to minimize them. We intend to creatively approach an estimated 7-month build, which may include worshipping in multiple services in our children’s wing. Our commitment is to continue to worship Sunday mornings, host evening life groups, and mid-week programs.
