Non Traditional Gifting

Ways to give during your lifetime:

Monetary Gifts
Through our tithes & offerings, we are able to support the immediate needs of ministry at Avondale Bible Church.

Marketable Securities
Marketable Securities such as transferring ownership of stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares are a great way to maximize your giving, because you may receive an immediate tax deduction for the full fair market value of your securities. In addition, you pay no capital gains tax on the difference between your cost and the fair market value. You will want to consult with your tax or financial advisor to determine the best method to give.

The following example shows the value of donating $500 in appreciated stock/mutual funds:

Assumptions:  Cost of stock:  $10 per share//Current stock value: $50 per share//Donor’s tax rate: 25%

Cash Donation:  Deduction: $500//Cost: $375 ($500, less value of deduction @25% tax rate)

Ten Shares Donated directly to Avondale Bible Church: Deduction $500//Cost: $25

($100 historical cost of stock, less value of $500 deduction @25% tax rate, or $125).

Real Estate and Assets
Making a gift of real estate or personal assets such as undeveloped lands, farms or personal residences or personal property may be transferred by deed to Avondale Bible Church, and possibly with no liability on income or estate taxes on the appreciation. Please contact your real estate or tax advisor for more information on giving real estate.
